File one name before the line closes.
A prompt asks for a kind of thing, sometimes with a condition. You type one answer. If the survey knows it, you see a tier. If it does not, the clock is still running.
The four tiers
| Tier | Points | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday | 15 | The name most people can produce without searching. |
| Familiar | 40 | A name you would reach after the obvious one. |
| Unusual | 70 | Specific, and still a thing a practitioner would recognize. |
| Singular | 100 | The far edge of this list. Real, and rarely the first filing. |
These tiers were written with the prompts. They do not update from other players’ answers, and they are not a measurement of global frequency.
During the eighteen seconds
- Press Start when you are ready — the clock only runs once the first prompt is showing.
- File an accepted name to lock the prompt.
- A miss, or a rejected near-miss, leaves the clock running so you can try again. A one-letter typo in a longer answer still counts.
- Pass, or let the time run out, and that prompt scores zero.
- The daily maximum is 500. Unlimited runs scale to the number of prompts dealt.
Daily, archive, unlimited
The daily survey is shared by UTC date, and it is filed once — your result is kept in this browser and the survey stays locked until the next midnight UTC. Finishing it can extend a streak, also kept in this browser. The archive replays an old date and does not touch the streak. Unlimited shuffles the same list, and the address bar holds the seed.
Read how to file past the first name before you chase a singular answer you cannot spell.
