About
A small survey, kept by hand.
Krillion Unlimited is a free, unofficial daily rare-answer game inspired by the genre Krillion popularized. Everyone who opens it on the same UTC date gets the same five prompts and eighteen seconds to file one answer each. Obvious names are worth the least. There is no account, no server keeping score, and no feed — a finished survey lives only in your browser.
Who edits it
Krillion Unlimited is an independent fan project maintained by a small editorial hobbyist. The prompts, the accepted names, and the tier each name sits on are all written and reviewed by a person before they ship. The whole list is 60 prompts, and every one of them can be replayed in unlimited practice.
Editorial method
Each prompt pairs a category with a boundary where one helps ("a city that is not a capital", "a job that usually requires a degree"). Tiers are assigned by editorial judgement about how readily a name comes to mind: the name most people can produce without searching is Everyday (15), a name you reach after the obvious one is Familiar (40), a specific name a practitioner would recognize is Unusual (70), and the far edge of the list is Singular (100).
The tiers are fixed when the list is written. They are not computed from live player answers, they do not move as more people play, and they are not a measurement of global frequency — they are an opinionated guess at what comes to mind first, kept honest by the boundary in each prompt.
Answers are graded against aliases and near-misses typed in under the clock. A short list of famous names that fail a prompt's condition is rejected with an explanation instead of a plain miss.
What Krillion Unlimited is not
Krillion Unlimited is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the official Krillion game at krillion.io. It is an unofficial fan project that shares a format family — a short daily set where uncommon answers score more — and uses its own prompts, timer, tiers, and archive. If you want the original, this page explains the difference.
